10 Day Shravasti Retreat with Khenmo Drolma
The benefits of retreat are vast and life changing. Simply reading Dharma and receiving teachings is like having a feast in front of you without eating. Meditation in silent retreat is how the Dharma becomes nourishment and the path of transforming confusion into wisdom.
The next full 10 day residential retreat will be held at Pilgrim Lodge in Gardiner, Maine: Sunday May 24 – Tuesday June 2, 2026, with a one day option on May 25th
HH Chetsang Rinpoche has created a new program for 21st century meditators that reflect our specific needs. It is an integrated meditation approach that relies directly on the Buddha’s words as the source of instruction. It is an immersive experience based on the Discourse on Mindfulness of Breathing and his own personal instructions in the form of a commentary on the sutra. It also incorporates esoteric somatic exercises that support concentration.
The result is an authentic and accessible presentation of the sequential stages of meditation suitable for beginners and long-time meditators named Shravasti after the sacred site of Buddha’s teaching.
Khenmo recently shared, “During my personal retreat, I reviewed the richness of what His Holiness prepared for us. The 10 day retreat is ideal for an immersive experience, during which a wealth of information is given. Because there is enough time for the mind to thoroughly settle, students experience new depths of understanding and are able to apply what they have learned to their meditation practice at home. With this foundation, meditation matures naturally over time.”
